Meaning of Ash-Shakur
The One who is most appreciative of the good deeds of His servants and rewards them generously. Even small acts of gratitude and worship receive abundant rewards from Him.
Benefits of Reciting Ash-Shakur
- Motivates a person to perform good deeds, no matter how small, with the certainty that Ash-Shakur sees and appreciates them.
- Cures feelings of discouragement, as it teaches that Allah appreciates the effort, not just the perfection of the result.

Ash-Shakur in the Quran
Mentioned 4 times in the Quran, including '...that He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative' (35:30).

Being thankful to Allah ('shukr') is not for His benefit, but for ours. It has three parts: 1) Acknowledging the blessing in your heart is from Him. 2) Praising Him with your tongue. 3) Using the blessing in a way that is obedient to Him.
