Frequently Asked Questions
In English, it means 'The All-Seer'. The main lesson is 'Ihsan' (excellence), which is defined as 'to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then know that He sees you.' It is the foundation of sincerity and righteous conduct in private.
Our sight is a limited sense that requires eyes, light, and is blocked by obstacles. Allah's sight is a perfect attribute. It is unlimited, perceives everything simultaneously (the internal and external), and has no physical requirements. It is unlike the sight of any creation.
It is a source of hope for the righteous, who know that Allah sees their hidden good deeds and struggles. It is a source of healthy fear for the sinner, who knows that Allah witnesses their sins even when they are committed in absolute secrecy. This balance encourages good and discourages evil.
