Frequently Asked Questions
His highness is absolute. 1) Highness of His Essence: He is above His creation, separate from it. 2) Highness of His Attributes: His knowledge, power, and all attributes are perfect and at the highest possible level. 3) Highness of His Dominion: He has complete power and control over everything; nothing can challenge His authority.
Prostration (Sujud) is the lowest physical position a person can take, with their head on the ground. In this ultimate state of humility, it is most fitting to praise Allah by affirming His ultimate highness (Al-Ali / Al-A'la). We are at our lowest, and He is at His highest.
It redirects our ambition. Instead of seeking to be 'high' in status among people, it teaches us to seek a high status with Al-Ali. The way to become spiritually high is by being physically and metaphorically low (humble) for the sake of Allah.
